Founded in Auckland, New Zealand in 1987 as Independent Liquor (NZ) Ltd, the now named Independent Distillers Group manufactures and distributes alcoholic beverages to export markets worldwide. While its core business is its own ready to drink (RTD) brands, it also produces a selection of beer, wine and spirits under its own brands. Bought by Asahi Breweries in 2011 and renamed Asahi Premium Beverages in 2013.
