Under the arrangement Nutricia markets and sells the baby food range in Australia and NZ under a brand licence arrangement, while Golden Circle manufactures and distributes the range from its Brisbane factory.

Independent testing commissioned by Friends of the Earth in 2017 found nanoparticles in popular Australian infant formula products that are both illegal in Australia and potentially dangerous. This company's Aptamil Profutura 1 was found to contain nano-particles, while its Karicare Plus 1 formula was one of only two of the seven samples found to contain no nano-particles. A growing body of scientific research demonstrates that nanoparticles pose threats to human health, raising concerns about their use in food and many other consumer products.
