In 2005 the Arab Bank was fined US$24 million by US banking regulators for its alleged failures to comply with US anti-money laundering laws. Regulators said Arab Bank's New York branch failed to adequately guard against the risks of money laundering and terrorist financing, and also failed to properly report suspicious activities.
