San Miguel Corporation is the largest publicly listed food, beverage and packaging company in the Philippines. Have additionally diversified into Fuel and Oil (Petron), infrastructure (roads, rail, airports), real estate development, power and energy and mining. Founded in 1890 as a brewery, the company has over 100 facilities in the Philippines, Southeast Asia, China and Australia. San Miguel's flagship product, San Miguel Beer, holds over 90% share of the Philippine beer market.

Kirin's main businesses include alcohol, soft drinks, pharmaceuticals and food. Japan's largest brewer. Kirin bought Australian dairy & juice company National Foods in 2007, and Dairy Farmers in late 2008, and the 54% of Lion Nathan (Australia's #2 brewer) it didn't already own in 2009. While Kirin is an independent company, it is part of Japan's largest "keiretsu", Mitsubishi Group.
