In 1929 Boh Plantations was founded in Malasia by J.A. Russell, a British-born British-educated businessman during the British colonial era in Malaya. Today JA Russell & Co is still owned by the Russell family, who own 70% of Boh Plantation in Malaysia, and 100% of Nerada tea in Australia

Malaysia's largest tea grower. British entrepreneur John Archibald Russell pioneered tea cultivation in Malaysia, establishing BOH Plantations in 1929.


Nerada Tea Pty Ltd

Established in 1995 by the Russell family, who have been growing tea in Malaysia since 1929. Nerada Tea is grown in Queensland without the use of pesticides and is the largest tea producer in Australia. All their teas are packed in Australia - although the Fairtrade/Organic raw materials are sourced overseas.
