On 5 Dec 2019 the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission charged brand-management company Iconix Brand Group Inc. and three of its former top executives with fraud. Iconix agreed to injunctive relief and to pay a $5.5 million penalty.

Iconix Brand Group paid a US$250,000 civil penalty in 2009 to settle charges its apparel web sites violated the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act by knowingly collecting, using or disclosing personal information from children online without first obtaining their parents' permission.
